Whether you are just beginning nursing school or you are looking at the final stretch, Meridy’s wants you to succeed.  One of the first steps to success is being prepared everyday for class or clinicals.  Here are a few tips to help as you continue your journey to success:

Purchase nursing student uniforms on time.

Be sure to meet the deadline for ordering your nursing uniforms.  This will ensure that you will have your student uniform in time for clinicals.  Meridy’s makes ordering easy!  Simply go to our website, enter the pass code you receive from your school and click go.  Select the size you need for your customized student uniform using our sizing charts, add any accessories you may need, and follow the check out procedures.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Customer Service at 800-237-9164.  We are available Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST.

Wear the right shoes.

Your feet are one of the most important things in your life as a nurse.  Go ahead and start taking care of them now by wearing the right nursing shoes, it will pay off.  Meridy’s offers nursing shoes that can be found on your school’s personalized web page or our Cherokee website.

Have the supplies you need.

In addition to your usual school supplies – pens, pencils, paper, erasers, highlighters, sticky notes, etc. – you will also need clinical supplies.  Meridy’s offers a variety of clinical supplies including stethoscopes, bandage scissors, penlights, charting pens, blood pressure cuffs, nurse assistant clipboards, ID clips, watches, and more.  These uniform accessories can be found on your school’s personalized web page.

Learn how to pack your bags.

Depending on the nursing school you are attending, you may have to travel long distances, walk all over campus, or even pack a lunch to save time and money.  Try to limit your bags to a total of three:  a backpack for your books and school supplies, a messenger bag – or smaller bag – for extras that won’t fit in your backpack (layered clothing, umbrella, clinical supplies, etc.), and a food tote for your lunch and study snacks.  Limiting the number of bags you carry will help reduce stress on your back (also important in your life as a nurse) and it will make it easier for you to move from one location to another.  Meridy’s offers nursing bags to help nursing students keep their life organized.  These can be found on your school’s personalized web page, or you can call Customer Service to find out more information.

Following these simple tips will help as you continue your journey to success as a nursing student.
